where did 2023 go?!
The year started with Priya whelping an exciting litter of 4, a dog and bitch were retained. whilst the pups grew and Priya regrew her coat, I judged bitches at the English Setter Society of Wales Champ Show in April, and had the pleasure of judging the Otterhound Club 45th Anniversary Champ Show in September; my first time giving CC's in the breed, and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
In May, I showed (as usual) Christine Nornmansell's Latin Lover Rewind for Larrenie, to win Limit, the CC and Best of Breed at SKC - the first non-English line dog to win a CC in the UK for nearly 40 years, I believe!!
Sadly in July Duncan passed away suddenly after a short illness, he is sorely missed.
In October, Priya returned from maternity leave at Midland Counties, and thrilled us by winning a strong open class, and the her first CC. she was also declared Best Veteran in Breed having just turned 7 - although she prefers to keep her age under wraps! Her son, Connor, Larrenie Heartstopper made his debut and won his class.
Priya's next show, Southern English Setter Society Champ Show, saw her do even better, by not only winning her second CC, but Best In Show. Photo below pictured with the judges and the RBIS
At Midland English Setter Society open Show, Priya again won Open, Best bitch and Best In Show. photo below with the RBIS winner
In only 5 shows, Priya had a great year, and we hope her 3rd CC wont be too far away in 2024. We also hope to campaign her son with her next year.
